About Island Paradise Coatings
Island Paradise Coatings is owned and operated by Joel Jacobson. Joel was inspired by his father, Darryl Jacobson, who is a ticketed journeyman cement mason and has over 30 years experience in residential, commercial and all forms of decorative concrete.
Joel grew up spending his summer vacations helping Darryl pour driveways, sidewalks, staircases and more. Darryl instilled his passion for hard work and the joy of making something both useful and beautiful into Joel from early on.
While Darryl stayed involved with concrete work throughout his entire life, Joel dabbled in other trades as well to learn new skills and processes that overlap into all trades. Eventually Joel and Darryl teamed up as partners to focus on decorative concrete repair, the perfect blend of beauty, practicality and hard work.
Island Paradise Coatings takes pride in all of their projects. We have been factory trained in resinous coatings using FLEXMAR polyaspartics, Elitecrete and Duraamen micro-topings and coatings, and also in Werkmaster’s dry polished concrete systems.
Island Paradise Coatings provides dustless concrete grinding using the Werkmaster grinding system. This can be used both for polishing concrete to an elegant shine or as proper surface preparation to accommodate the highly engineered topping systems available today.
Being the only factory trained installer of FLEXMAR polyasparatics on the west coast assures a quality garage floor coating that carries an impressive warranty for high performance and customer satisfaction. For the restaurant/institutional side, polyaspartic coatings can be installed without disrupting the normal flow of business.
Flexmar is the original producer of polyaspartics and was the first to introduce a coating material that would cure in one hour… meaning that a regular garage floor could be ground and prepped, have 3 coats of product installed, and returned to service for the homeowner by supper time. The longevity, gloss, durability, stain-resistance, non-permeability, resistance to hot-tire pickup and the antimicrobial properties are just a small benefit that should also be mentioned.
